Letter to a Senator

Dear Senator X,

I urge you to refuse sending any further emergency appropriations to the President for the war since any money sent outside the normal budget process is severely undermining our democracy, our economy and it's hurting our troops. Let the president fund an orderly withdrawal of all of our troops from theater with emergency money available to him under the 1861 Feed and Forage Act, but please stop enabling the illegal occupation of a sovereign nation to a great detriment to our national security and against the overwhelming opposition of the American people. I believe the Democratic Party leadership is making a fatal mistake in a crucial moment in history when it chooses flawed political calculations instead of genuine representation of the people who elected them in 2006.
